Phone number trackers are
generally hidden programs installed in the mobile device to help
track the location of the mobile. These programs run in the
background and are hidden from the view of the mobile user
during normal operations. Usually a special set of keys are
required to be pressed to launch the program which is almost
always password protected.

gaming or some utility app. Once installed the tracking app
stores all the info like calls received and dialled, along with
SMS details. This tracking information in the form of report can
be accessed by the tracking app installer using the admin
interface of the app. The admin interface is hidden and password

feature to send the report via e-mail to pre set addresses at
certain frequencies like, once a day or every six hours. Through
these programs it is possible to keep tab of all the call logs
and SMS details on the phone remotely.
Some newer and advance apps also offer to keep track of mobile
location. The apps in this case use the inbuilt GPS system of
the phone to log the co-ordinates of its physical location every
few minutes or hours. This data is then included in the report
along with the phone call logs, to give a complete picture of
not only the call logs and SMS details but also the locations
details of the user.
Legal aspects of using this type of programs must be considered
before deployment. In case, a user being spied upon discovers
the phone spying program on his or her device, it is not very
difficult for him or her to find out about the person
responsible for the program and take legal action against the
person responsible. The use of such detailed phone number
tracking software is illegal without consent, most of the times.
It evades personal privacy of the mobile phone user. Many
private investigators and security companies use such mobile
tracing programs depending of the requirements of the clients
and the need of the case. It is always a good idea to approach
them for the deployment and use according to the need as they
have necessary license and security approvals to use such
programs in legal manner.
One should also be careful about many such free mobile phone
spying apps available on popular app stores, for they may
contain viruses and Trojans which might lock the user out of his
or her own mobile device and demand ransom in the form of
service fees to unlock the device and use it. It is always a
good idea to check the ratings and reviews of such app before
installing them to be on the safer side.
